TACOMA CITY MARATHON

SAT-SUNTake the Michelob ULTRA Challenge. Run 3 races in 2 days and receive a commemorative plaque. Races on Saturday, April 28th include the 5K, Ghost of Tacoma Half and Full Marathon. On Sunday, April 29th participants may run either the Half, Full or Ultra Marathon. All race participants for all distances receive a medal.

SAT-SUNA community letterpress and book arts extravaganza. Meet local printers and view their wares, print your own keepsakes, make paper and bind books.

Go through the security room, deactivating clever alarms and security systems. Get to the exhibit hall filled with ancient artifacts and paintings. Finally, steal the main exhibit piece, The Mona Lisa! Can you complete this mission in less than 60 minutes?

WINE & CHOCOLATE PAIRING
EVERY THURS, FRI, SAT – Sweet Decadence Wine & Chocolate Bar: This fun, casual and educational experience will help novice wine drinkers develop a new appreciation for different wines while more experienced wine drinkers can get a “grape” experience as well.

LASER LIGHT SHOWS
ALL MONTH – Experience the largest and longest operating domed laser theater in the world.

SEATTLE SMASH PUTT
All Month (FRI-SUN) – Putt-putt like you’ve never played it, going out with a bang in a funky new pop-up space in Downtown Seattle. Experience brand new crazy contraptions presented with a collection of your favorites from our nostalgic past! Pacific Science Center.

FRI-SUN – Explore and experience the cultural roots and contemporary influences of Japan through live performances, visual arts, hands-on activities, foods and games including Taiko drumming and artisan demonstrations.

PACIFIC SCIENCE CENTER AFTER HOURS 

FRI – Explore the Science Center with a drink in your hand and no kids in sight. Stop by the Laser Dome for an open house laser show and witness brilliant laser colors blazing overhead, soar with butterflies in the Tropical Butterfly House, take on engineering challenges in Tinker Tank, and explore all things green with our educators from Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center.

JAMESON JITNEY 

SAT – Happening once a month in different neighborhoods throughout Seattle. Each bar will feature a special drink as well as interactive games and entertainment.

COCHON 555  

SUN – A nose-to-tail culinary event dedicated to supporting family farmers and educating buyers about the agricultural importance of eating heritage breed pigs, some of which are on critical watch lists.

SAT – Billed as the largest children’s parade in the state.  

INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S FRIENDSHIP FESTIVAL 

SAT-SUNAn event that is run by children and features performances by children. Various nationalities are represented through music, folk dancing, and art. The children celebrate their international friendship through experiencing the rich tapestry of the world’s cultures.

HOLI HAI

SATA carnival of colors, where everyone plays, chases and colors each other with dry powder—anyone and everyone is fair game. This springtime celebration includes music, dancing, copious amounts of various cuisines, and of course, the traditional color-throwing festivities.

QUESTIVAL

FRI-SAT – A 24-hour adventure race where teams of 2-6 friends explore the unknown in their city and the wild spaces around it, do things they never thought possible, and have fun with a supportive community.

SAT – Following the Tacoma Daffodil Festival Grand Floral Parade in downtown Tacoma, and will feature some of the finest blues musicians to be found west of the Mississippi.  

BRUNCH RUN

SATGrab your friends and run, walk, or stroll your way to brunch heaven. Start off your morning with a run on a beautiful 5k course through Magnuson Park along Lake Washington ending with over 15 local restaurants serving brunch bites and a boozy brunch garden.

FEDERAL WAY SYMPHONY

SAT-SUNFeaturing Marjorie Kransberg-Talvi. A Concertmaster and violinist, Marjorie began studies at the age of five at the New England Conservatory of Music. She has appeared as a soloist with Boston Symphony, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and
Kennedy Center Orchestra to name a few. Ms. Kransberg-Talvi has been Concertmaster and soloist for Pacific Northwest Ballet for two decades.

WASHINGTON CAST BEER FESTIVAL

SAT – Featuring  one-of-a-kind handcrafted cask-conditioned beers from over 40 Washington breweries. To remain true to the spirit of “real ale,” all beers are conditioned naturally without artificially introducing CO2 into the cask and will be poured by gravity or via a beer engine.

Go through the security room, deactivating clever alarms and security systems. Get to the exhibit hall filled with ancient artifacts and paintings. Finally, steal the main exhibit piece, The Mona Lisa! Can you complete this mission in less than 60 minutes?

WINE & CHOCOLATE PAIRING
EVERY THURS, FRI, SAT – Sweet Decadence Wine & Chocolate Bar: This fun, casual and educational experience will help novice wine drinkers develop a new appreciation for different wines while more experienced wine drinkers can get a “grape” experience as well.

QUILT SHOW 

FRI-SUNOver 500 quilts on display in a dozen different categories, ranging from traditional styles to art quilts and other innovative designs. There is something for everyone to enjoy at the show. Quilts, fabrics, and other quilt-related goods will be available for purchase from the vendors in our merchant mall. Free demonstrations of various quilt-making techniques will be offered throughout each day.
